Orongorongo Valley

New Zealand is famed for it’s wilderness, outdoor pursuits and stunning landscapes. It was one of the reasons that I moved here in the first place. One of my aims is to get outdoors more and explore some of the amazing vistas and landscapes which are endemic to New Zealand. One of the most popular pastimes here is to go ‘tramping’; which is basically New Zealand’s way of saying hiking or trekking. I was asked to join on a tramp to Orongorongo Valley in the Rimutaka’s; a 45-minute drive out from Wellington. So I went and honestly it was fricking amazing!

Colca Canyon

Colca Canyon slices through the High Andes for more than 100km. It is shade shallower than nearby Cotahuasi Canyon at 3,400m at its deepest. This makes it almost twice as deep as the more famed Grand Canyon in the USA. This is what I spent three days trekking through. Needless to say it was pretty darn epic. Continue reading Colca Canyon

Everest Base Camp

Everest Base Camp. The first of many camps leading to the highest mountain on Earth. The trip that got me there was easily one of the most amazing periods of my life. It sealed the deal with my love affair of travel and it has most definitely helped shape me into the person I am today. It’s something I look back fondly on and one that I constantly wish to relive.
